Cleaning Tires The Proper Way

Did you know that there is a “right way” to clean your tires?Clean and shiny tire | TC's Mobile Detailing | Lakeland Florida | Outshine The Rest
Several customers have told us that they don’t want tire shine on their tires because it gets all over their car. This tells us that their last detailing company did not properly clean the tire before adding the tire shine. When tire shine is applied to a dirty tire, it cannot bond to the tire, causing it to sling all over your freshly clean car. So today, we want to share with you the proper way to clean your tires where your car (including your tires) will look it’s best!

1. Clean Your Tires First!

The most important part is to clean your tires first. You have to clean them deep for the tire shine to bond properly with the tire, giving it a nice finish. To make things simple and easy, we use a drill-like tool with a stiffer brush. With the stiffer brush we go over the tire many times until it is perfectly clean. Remembering to roll the car forward or back to get the bottom part you missed as the brush may not have been able to reach.

2. Wash The Rest of Your Car and Dry It

For the video we dried the tires to show the process, but you should always wash the car after and then dry it. If you wash the car and then the tires, if any of the tire cleaner gets on the car, you will have to wash the car over again.

3. Apply Tire Shine

Once you thoroughly clean the tire, you can apply a tire dressing or shine. The tire shine will now be able to completely bond with your tires, preventing the excess from slinging onto your freshly cleaned car.

It’s that simple to get your tires looking brand new again! Try having a professional clean and shine your tires for easy maintenance between details. Call our team of professionals at TC’s Mobile Detailing today!
