Each and every vehicle needs different attention. Why a two-step paint correction instead of one step? Isn’t it faster and cheaper if you eliminate a step? two-step correction doesn’t always appeal to everyone and we know this. It is not the point of needing anything. It is all about what you are looking for in a finished product. Yes, a one-step correction is faster and yes it is a less expensive service. BUT when you are you looking to achieve near perfection to be the envy of your car club or look like new going to pick up your date for a night on the town.
Picture two vehicles at a stop light. Both exactly the same, color, year, mileage. Their paint looks neglected, dull, beat up. Then there is your car, 3 or 4 years old but it looks like it just left the showroom floor. A two-step paint correction is what will do the trick.
Step One
Step one of the correction, using a compound of choice and then a machine of choice. When I say machine of choice I am referring to a polisher, whether it is a rotary, random orbital, long throw machine or direct drive. Most of the time we will choose the direct drive because of the cutting ability to the paint without the small margin for error opposed to using a rotary machine.
This combination of product and machine to start to eliminate the severe imperfections in the vehicles paint. Once all the heavy imperfections are gone we then get into step 2 of the correction.
Step Two
When using heavy cutting compounds to eliminate severe scratches the machine is actually leaving behind what we call micro marring which sounds like we are going backward. Yes, we are making tiny scratches to take the heavy scratches out. Which why step 2 is so important. This step will remove the tiny scratches to give your paint the clarity and gloss it deserves. We will then follow that with a sealant or ceramic coating of choice, depending on the service. “outshine the rest”
